Peter Gannon was appointed president by the Board of Directors in June 2010. He is responsible for all strategic planning, marketing, fundraising and tenant management. He originally joined the Arsenal Partnership as vice president in 2009. Prior to joining the Partnership, he served as Director of Operations in the Town of Colonie and Director of Communications to Assembly Majority Leader Ron Canestrari. Peter earned his undergraduate degree in public communications from the College of Saint Rose and his MBA from the Lally School of Management at RPI. He was a member of the inaugural class of the Leadership Tech Valley and, in 2011, was named one of the Business Review’s Forty Under 40. He is active in various community organizations including the Board of Associates at the College of St. Rose, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and Albany Pop Warner. Peter was recognized for his successful leadership role in the 2015 Friendship Walk for Best Buddies. In addition, he works as a member of the adjunct faculty at Schenectady County Community College.
Bob Mahoney joined the Partnership in 2006 as the Senior Project Manager involved in the company’s business development strategies, site planning, project execution and implementation of activities associated with location and management of commercial tenants at the Arsenal Technology Park at Watervliet Arsenal. Mr. Mahoney has 33 years of federal service with Watervliet Arsenal, where he held management and journeyman positions in business development, marketing, program management, quality assurance, and manufacturing.
Kathy Caruso has been with the Partnership since 2003. As Administrator, she supports the President’s general management of the corporation and the Veterans Business Outreach Program. Her responsibilities include contract administration, grant administration, coordination of Board activities, supporting project management, marketing, program budgeting, audit compliance, and overseeing the organization’s daily activities. After earning a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Interamerican University, Kathy served as a production office coordinator in feature film production for major studios. Kathy was a member of Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2011, served on LTV’s Steering Committee 2011-2012, Averill Park Education Foundation Board 2008-2017, and currently serves on the VETCON Alliance Advisory Board, assisting veterans facing socio-economic hardships, and promote growth through education, entrepreneurship and employment.
Doreen Dean joined the Arsenal Partnership in July 2007. Her background includes several years of federal service at the Watervliet Arsenal, as well as similar private sector duties. Immediately prior to joining the Arsenal Partnership, she was the Coordinator for an engineering consulting firm, and has provided assistance to various non-profit organizations. Doreen currently functions as the Property Operations Specialist of the organization and handles project coordination and all property management needs of the Partnership. She serves as the primary liaison between the AP Office and our tenant company contacts, and provides administrative and tech support for the Veterans Business Outreach Program. Doreen is a graduate of the United States Department of Justice FBI Citizen’s Academy and a member of the Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2013.
Amy Amoroso serves as Program Director for the Partnership’s Veterans Business Outreach Center. She is the initial point of contact for VBOC program clients and is responsible for facilitating and delivering Boots to Business, B2B: Reboot training programs, conducts client counseling services, case management, performance reporting, compliance, serves as POC for stakeholder and collaborative partners, and as moderator for network and outreach events. Amy works closely with VBOC staff in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, program and event planning and marketing to spread awareness of available services. Amy is a board member of the Montgomery County SPCA, UMAC, VETCON Alliance, Stakeholders, NVSBC. She volunteers with the American Red Cross, Veterans Administration and AMVETS Post 35.
Zach Yakel is the newest member of the Arsenal Partnership’s team serving as Client Services and Project Coordinator. His responsibilities include assisting VBOC Program Director with pre-screening program clients, scheduling meetings, referrals and follow up and general correspondence. Zach assists in coordinating training, events, travel, outreach activities and marketing efforts, including website updates, webinars, social media campaigns, and maintaining contacts database. He assists Partnership staff with coordination and management of projects, marketing, business development and public information programs. Zach earned his Bachelor of Science degree (Cum Laude) in Business and Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
