Kathy Caruso has been with the Partnership since 2003. As Administrator, she is responsible for the management of the organization and the Veterans Business Outreach Program. Her responsibilities include contract and grant administration, coordination of Board activities, project management, marketing, program budgeting, audit compliance, and overseeing the organization’s daily activities. After earning a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Interamerican University, she worked as a production office coordinator in feature film production for major studios. Kathy is a participant in The Leadership Institute Class of 2019. She was a member of Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2011, served on LTV’s Steering Committee 2011-2012, Averill Park Education Foundation Board 2008-2017, VETCON Alliance, and HATAS’ 2018 Event Committee.
Amy Amoroso serves as Program Director for the Partnership’s Veterans Business Outreach Center. She is the initial point of contact for VBOC program clients and is responsible for facilitating and delivering Boots to Business, B2B: Reboot training programs, conducts client counseling services, case management, performance reporting, compliance, serves as POC for stakeholder and collaborative partners, and as moderator for network and outreach events. Amy works closely with VBOC staff in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, program and event planning and marketing to spread awareness of available services. Amy is a board member of the Montgomery County SPCA, UMAC, VETCON Alliance, Stakeholders, NVSBC. She volunteers with the American Red Cross, Veterans Administration and AMVETS Post 35.
Luz-Maria Lambert serves as Business Advisor for the Veterans Business Outreach Center Region II, servicing VBOC clients in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey. She is a multilingual and diverse business development expert, experienced public speaker and entrepreneur. She trains aspiring entrepreneurs on how to develop profitable enterprises and has a proven track record meeting and exceeding her client’s expectations in the areas of marketing, organizational design and operations. Ms. Lambert has over 10 years consulting experience for profit and not-for profit companies at the national and international level. Besides being business savvy, she is well-versed in world cultures, customs and history. Ms. Lambert is currently a professor at City University of NY. She is an experienced Master of Ceremony and the founder of Words & Beyond, a business that focuses on personal business coaching on how to transform “a job mentality to business owner mentality”. She received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in Political Science, a Masters Degree from Columbia University School of international Affairs (SIPA), in International Security Policy and Economic Development, and earned a second Masters from Baruch College in Public Affairs. She is a proud National Urban Fellow and part of the first cohort of Columbia University’s Global Scholar Program. She loves traveling, the performing arts and free enterprise.
Retired US Army Sgt. 1st Class Juan Marrero joined the VBOC Region II team in April 2019 as Outreach Specialist to provide business training, counseling and mentoring to veteran entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Juan is bilingual in English and Spanish and brings a unique skillset and familiarity to the population he serves in the region as they start or grow their own small business. Juan was an active duty service member for 22 years. He has an extensive training background, skills as a highly qualified professional in the manufacturing industry and experience providing ERP, or enterprise resource planning, services such as software testing, production support, training, and solutions implementation. Juan completed a Technical Degree in Computer and Network Repair/ AutoCAD from the Universal Technology College of Puerto Rico and studied Chemistry at Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
Stephanie Pirrone is the Partnership’s Administrative Coordinator serving the VBOC Region II staff and operations. Her responsibilities include general office support, scheduling, client intake, accounts payable, travel arrangements, assisting with grant compliance and reporting, social media emarketing, event planning, review/editing client business plans and other materials for VBOC Director, and supporting AP/VBOC staff at events. In addition to formerly working at the Small Business Development Center, Stephanie has extensive experience in office management, administrative support, and customer service in the banking, insurance, and manufacturing industries. She earned an Associate of Arts in Graphic Design from Rockland Community College and continued graphic design courses at SUNY Empire State College. Additionally, she earned a General Banking Diploma from the American Institute of Banking.
